If you've been struggling with inattention, impulsivity, or difficulty staying organized, an adult ADHD assessment at NEAC can provide the clarity and direction you need. Our attention deficit hyperactivity disorder assessments are available for adults and teens 16 years and older at our Toronto and Mississauga locations. Going far beyond a basic ADHD test for adults, our multi-informant, multi-modal evaluations are designed to give you a complete, accurate picture, even if you're exploring an ADHD test for the first time or seeking a formal diagnosis and personalized recommendations.

While every individual will have their unique experiences, those seeking an adult ADHD assessment may report challenges with fidgeting, maintaining focus, following appropriate conversational cues, strong emotional reactions, and staying organized.
Our ADHD-only assessments are for clients 16 years and older with a specific question around attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and are not looking to address learning-based difficulties (e.g., Learning Disabilities), or socio-emotional challenges outside of ADHD (e.g., mood or anxiety challenges). Clients may be directed to appropriate services if these issues emerge.
To address the question of ADHD, a multi-informant, multi-modal assessment is essential. Specifically, the assessment will include a thorough intake to understand current concerns and history of challenges, questionnaires to be completed by the individual and others (e.g., spouse, teacher, parent), standardized testing (IQ for cognitive ability, executive functioning, measures of attention), direct consultation with the supervising psychologist, and a thorough feedback session to discuss the results.
Because our ADHD-only assessments are diagnostic-specific, this service is provided at a reduced cost of $2,500. Some extended health benefit plans may reimburse part of the fee under psychological services; we recommend checking your policy before booking.
Often, an individual's daily functioning may be impacted by their struggles with managing and prioritizing tasks and schedules, procrastination, and responding to personal stressors. The assessment results will provide a comprehensive understanding of the individual's ability to regulate their attention, emotions, and behaviour, which likely have an impact on their daily functioning. It will also provide specific recommendations for support in educational and personal environments.
An adult ADHD assessment is focused in scope to address the specific question of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. In contrast, our comprehensive psychoeducational assessments are intended to address learning-related challenges, including Learning Disabilities and socio-emotional difficulties, which require additional testing around academic progress, memory, and mental health.
As our primary service, we continue to offer comprehensive psychoeducational assessments intended to address attention, learning, and mental health challenges. If you are unsure which assessment is right for you, our team is happy to help.

The first appointment is in-person at either our Toronto or Mississauga office and involves the intake and testing portions of the assessment, typically for about 3 hours.
After the testing is complete, a video consultation appointment will take place with the Registered Psychologist. The purpose of this appointment is to follow up on any information that came from the interview, testing, and/or questionnaires. Following this, the results of the tests and consultation will be analyzed, and a report will be written.
The final appointment will also be with the Registered Psychologist to discuss the results and recommendations. This appointment will be held via video or phone. Following the appointment, arrangements will be made to provide the full written report.
